हर यूनिट का हिसाब
Bijli is HiSociety's prepaid smart-metering platform for Indian housing societies. Residents see live consumption, top up their wallet, and watch their projected bill move. Committees get HERC-compliant Annexure-A + Annexure-B bills, an audit trail every rupee can be traced through, and DHBVN-export packs at one click.
Inside the app
Six screens from the live Bijli resident app — the data is real, the design ships dark by default, and every number is regenerable from the meter inputs.

What residents get
Do I owe money? What's my meter doing now? What will the next bill be? Can I do something about it? Bijli answers all four in one tap.
Circular gauge refreshes every few seconds. See kW + ₹/hr at the moment the appliance kicks in.
Razorpay top-up · balance-to-days conversion · auto-warn at 20% · no surprise disconnections.
Cycle-to-date burn rate × days remaining = where you'll land this month. Move it down before bill-day.
Source-tagged consumption: see exactly how much ran on the genset and what it cost. Three slabs, no mystery.
"Your AC ate 49% of April." Drives engagement — and helps the committee plan capacity.
Annexure-A (energy) + Annexure-B (CAE/DG) as separate PDFs per HERC §6.1(e). Regenerable from inputs.
Every reading, tariff change, and bill is hash-chained. The committee can prove any rupee on demand.
SMS-first option for residents without the app. WhatsApp bill delivery. Works in low-bandwidth society apartments.
Per-cycle CSV pack for the Haryana discom portal. Committee runs Annexure compliance in one click.
Compliance, end-to-end
HERC §6.1(e)(viii)
CAE formula implemented verbatim — society total ÷ covered sqft × flat sqft. Inline shown on every bill.
HERC §6.1(e)(vii)
Tariff governance: versioned, effective-dated. Bill regenerates identically from inputs. No magic numbers.
Annexure-A + B separation
Per the 9-Oct-2020 HERC Order: energy and CAE/DG charges issued as separate bills. Disconnection cannot recover CAE dues.
IS 16444 sub-meters
Only certified sub-meters in the field. Rejected non-compliant gear keeps committee on the right side of audits.
DHBVN export pack
Per-cycle CSV pack ready for the Haryana discom portal. One click — no spreadsheet reconciliation.
Hash-chained audit log
Every reading, tariff change, bill line, payment, and adjustment is SHA-256 chained. Any dispute is replayable.
Initial rollout is Haryana (HERC + DHBVN compliance is built-in — Gurgaon, Faridabad, Sonipat, Karnal, Panipat societies). The architecture is regulator-agnostic; Maharashtra (MERC) and Karnataka (KERC) are next. Talk to us if you want your state prioritised.
Two things. First, it's prepaid — residents top up a wallet, and the meter never disconnects without warning. Second, the audit trail: every reading, tariff change, and bill line is hash-chained, so a resident dispute can be resolved by replaying the raw inputs, not by trusting a stored bill.
No. The app is for engagement and recharge; the PDF Annexure-A + Annexure-B bills arrive on WhatsApp / email every cycle regardless. Low-bandwidth residents can use SMS for balance checks.
The gateway has a digital input wired to the changeover switch. Every reading is tagged grid or DG at the device. Bills split the kWh between the slab tariff and the DG premium tariff transparently — no more flat "genset charges" with no breakdown.
We bring DLMS meters and gateways, install per-flat, and wire the gateway to the changeover. Cost depends on flat count and whether the society already has an MCB cabinet retrofit. Reach out for a pilot quote.
Yes. HERC §6.1(e)(vii) requires regenerable bills with versioned tariffs and dated effectivity. HERC §6.1(e)(viii) defines the CAE methodology (society total ÷ covered sqft × flat sqft) — Bijli implements it verbatim. Annexure-A and Annexure-B ship as separate bills per the 9-Oct-2020 HERC Order.
Tell us about the society — flat count, current sub-metering setup, and whether you already have a DG. We'll scope the pilot (typically one tower, 30-60 days) and come back with a quote inside 48 hours.
